I’m a writer living in Glasgow, Scotland. My first book, Mother State: a political history of motherhood is forthcoming from Allen Lane (Penguin). I write essays and long form criticism for publications like The White Review, the Guardian, Another Gaze, The Stinging Fly, Frieze, and the LRB blog. During my editorial residency at MAP magazine, I ran the TENANCY project. I teach in the English Studies department at Durham University.
